Plot summary

On Jan 13, 2012, the luxury mega-ship Costa Concordia struck a reef off Italy's Giglio island after Captain Francesco Schettino attempted a reckless sail-by salute. The impact tore a fatal gash in the hull. Instead of ordering an immediate evacuation, Schettino fatally delayed the alarm and abandoned his sinking ship. The tragedy claimed 32 lives and forever changed maritime safety laws.
