Martin Short is one of those rare talents

Martin Short is one of those rare talents who transcends his lack of success in numerous endeavors through the sheer force of his joyful and energetic personality. This documentary shed some light on how greatly humor and positivity can enhance, not only one's own life, but the lives of anyone close to them. His successes are shown, as well as his failures (mostly box office under-performers) and he seems to be hitting his stride as his talk show appearances and Jiminy Glick routines garner more views on streaming than they did when originally aired. His Only Murders in the Building role and his stage show with Steve Martin are essentially Martin Short at the top of his game. Probably the most compelling aspect of this movie are the many testimonials and clips that document one of the strongest, healthiest relationships in show business...his life with his wife, Nancy. A truly enjoyable film.

Marty has his ups and downs yet keeps

Marty has his ups and downs yet keeps a smile on his face and has fun with life. Wonderful to see a star whose priorities are family and friends. Watched it twice already. The home movies make this biography real.

Comedy icon Martin Short isn’t dead…yet! However, filmmaker

Comedy icon Martin Short isn’t dead…yet! However, filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan thought now is a good time to reflect on Short’s relatively long life and have an obit ready…just in case. Martin’s is a life fuelled by joy! and so is this tribute to him. This 1 hour 41 minute Netflix documentary never feels boring. It reveals never-before-seen home movies with Martin’s beautiful family, wife and adopted children, plus an endless parade of celebrity friends and some of his classic character film clips. Martin’s philosophy on death is one thing that’s pulled him through so many tragedy’s in his life. Along with his theory on success and failure. I give "Marty, Life Is Short" two thumbs up for this doco that sensitively dissects and discusses his life in a linear fashion from childhood to today and shows you his comedic processes. I’ve been fortunate enough to see the "Steve & Marty" 2019 Tour "Now you see them, soon you won’t". All the feels are here in "Marty, Life Is Short".
