The Confession is a 2026 horror film that, while flawed, keeps viewers engaged with its suspenseful and mysterious story. The plot can be confusing at times, especially with elements like the name on the bones and the shifting timeline, but the screenplay maintains tension enough to keep the audience invested. Italia Ricci delivers a standout performance as a mother facing both love and supernatural terror, grounding the story emotionally, while Zachary Golinger shines as the child, conveying fear and innocence authentically. The direction uses lighting, atmosphere, and subtle sound design well, though pacing can feel uneven. The film balances horror and emotion effectively, making it a compelling, if imperfect, watch that keeps you guessing until the final scene.

The movie plot is a bit all over the place and becomes discombobulated. There is little explanation as to what is really going on with the life and death portals. The ending really ruins the movie making it a must-skip. What a waste of time.
