Plot summary

Cynthia Rand is a buttoned-up New Yorker married to a brilliant professor 25 years her senior. She begins feeling the effects of her husband’s advancing age on their relationship, just as her world is turned upside down by the arrival of sharp but chronically underachieving security guard Stan Olszewski in this smart rom-com that reunites Bacon and Sedgwick on screen for the first time in 20 years.

I liked it a lot. It resonated with

I liked it a lot. It resonated with me. I thought it was poignant and surfaced many unique insights about aging and dignity and the witnesses of our lives. It was so pleasing to watch Bacon and Sedgwick together.

A slightly awkward physician with a personality and

A slightly awkward physician with a personality and a vulgar security guard with all the right moves? Not buying it. And you know what, that deal these days having to follow people texting in movies is especially. Felt like what it was. A script written for a celebrity couple to work together, get a nice pay day for an uncomplicated, low budget movie. The life issues each faced that could have gone on for years, came for dramatic affect then evaporated magically to give us the ending we wanted. They each brought the persona they do best in film but the only real attraction was seeing how they'd do.
