It's not good but it's also pretty harmless

It's not good but it's also pretty harmless stuff. It's basically a family road movie. Everything is pretty mediocre and what you'd expect for something made around this time. Biggest problem is once they get on the road it feels like stuff just kind of happens. Meeting Chris Penn, the girl, and other stuff just very sloppy. The child acting between the two brothers just isn't much to ride home about. There barely ok. But honestly, the biggest problem here is the story is so stupid. They want to get to their Mom by using a lie that the little brother is a secret government weapon and he believes it the whole time because he's an idiot and than add on all the other crazy antics and I don't even know. Somehow they all reconcile in the end and it just is so stupid and unfocused. Yes we stay focused on the two brothers the entire time but the ideas are all over the place. Sometimes it's about the broken parent dynamics, the stupid government project, the sister they pick up, being on the road, Josh coming of age. It never ties these ideas together really or makes them work in a cohesive fashion and some just are forgotten about. Skip this. It's harmless but nothing really to see here.
