Homebound is a masterclass in cinema, serving as a stark reminder of why the medium exists: to hold a mirror to the bitter truths of society. Neeraj Ghaywan, the visionary behind Masaan, delivers a hauntingly realistic portrayal of two friends battling both an oppressive system and their own internal struggles. The performances are nothing short of career-defining, particularly Ishaan Khatter, whose work in the final thirty minutes is deeply moving. It is a refreshing departure from the toxic, jingoistic narratives of hits like Dhurandhar. Unfortunately, while mass audiences continue to flock to overhyped spectacles like Dhurandhar, Animal, quiet masterpieces like this often go underappreciated by the general public.

I wish cinema like this would be appreciated

I wish cinema like this would be appreciated more than the likes of pushpa 2 and gadar 2 which in themselves were awful movies, I wish people would appreciate cinema like this, I wish a lot of things but honestly that's not how the world works, this film hits you hard with reality and makes you appreciate life more, the acting by the lead actors was brilliant and the direction storytelling all on point, this could be my best movie for 2025, please show this movie the love it deserves and please make more movies like this, 9/10 Brilliant

This movie feels less like storytelling and more

This movie feels less like storytelling and more like ticking ideological boxes. Every single moment is forced into caste and religion, as if Indian society is nothing but endless oppression porn. Dalits suffering, Muslims suffering, everyone else portrayed as cartoonishly hostile — again. There’s no nuance, no balance, no real characters, just a loud agenda screaming at you scene after scene. It plays exactly like a Netflix checklist rather than an honest film. Instead of trusting the audience, it lectures nonstop. Tired, predictable, and painfully one-sided. Cinema deserves better than this recycled narrative.
